Q. Do you alter 919 meters?
A. Quantum does not alter meters. We provide a complete retrofit and replace all of the outdated technology in the unit.
Q. What is a retrofit?
A. A retrofit is the process of equipping your old 919 meter with new technology. Your newly revived meter will have a digital display and an easier to read zeroing process.
Q. What is involved in a retrofit?
A. During this process we replace all of the outdated electronics and the analog displays. We also inspect all mechanical parts for proper operations and provide a full calibration before shipping your meter back.
Q. Do I need to calibrate my meter?
A. With any highly precise piece of measurement equipment, it is recommended that you schedule an appointment to have your meter cleaned, inspection and calibrated annually. Due to our patented technology we are able to determine over the phone if the unit is functioning properly, but can’t guarantee calibration.
Q. Do I need to deliver my meter?
A. We do meter upgrades of customers all over North America. The majority of our customers arrange to have the meters shipped to our Manitoba Service Centre. Customers within the Western Manitoba region may choose to either drop off or pick-up the meter in person to save shipping charges.
Q. What if I am not happy with the upgrade?
A. Although this is highly unlikely, we offer a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee with our meter conversions. We will work to ensure that you have a moisture meter solution that you are comfortable with and that meets your needs.
Q. How long have you been doing meter upgrades?
A. We have been servicing 919 meters for 25 years and offering digital upgrades for 10 years. We have a very long list of satisfied users of our products. There is a very good chance that you have seen our product at a local grain terminal.
Q. Who else can upgrade my meter?
As the designer and patent holder of this technology, we are the only company authorized to perform the Quantum 919 Digital upgrades and service to these meters.
Q. Are you affiliated with Labtronics?
A. The Quantum 919 Digital was developed in conjunction with the original owners of Labtronics, who recognized the original technology was outdated and that parts to service these units would soon become obsolete. We are not currently affiliated with the present owners of Labtronics.
Q. Where are you located?
A. We are a Canadian company that is based in Brandon, MB. All of the design and manufacturing of our products is done in our Canadian facilities.
Q. What other products do you offer?
A. We do one thing and one thing only. We specialize in designing, manufacturing and installing highly reliable and accurate upgrades for the 919 meters.
Q. How long has this upgrade been available?
A. The first version of the Quantum 919 Digital was available in 2003. This product is very reliable and is still fully functional in thousands of meters across North America. After 10 years it was time to go back into design mode and look for ways to further improve the meter functionality. Our new design eliminates the need for operators to interpret the analog cursor dial by incorporating LEDs to assist with the zeroing process.
Q. Is this meter fully automated?
A. No! We have no intention of fully automating these meters. With the Quantum 919 Digital upgrade you benefit from the precision that our technology provides, but remain in control of the testing process.
Q.Will I need training on how to use this meter?
A. The primary operation of this meter has not changed. We have simply made the process quicker and easier by eliminating any guess work and errors in reading analog dials. The operator is still in full control of the testing process.
Q. What make of meters do you service?
A. We service all versions of the 919 style meters: Halross, Labtronics, Nuclear, Co-Nuclear, CAE, Motomco.
